We had the pleasure of meeting Ian Ziering and his lovely family including wife, Erin Ludwig and baby girl Mia at the 2011 Boom Boom Room gifting suite prior to the Emmy Awards.
Ziering is best known for his stand-out role in Beverly Hills 90210 in which he played Steve Sanders; however, he has appeared in numerous other television shows throughout the years including JAG, What I Like About You, The Doctors, and Guiding Light. Most recently, he was on Dancing with the Stars where he and his dance partner, Cheryl Burke made it all the way through to the semi-final round.
Ziering was born in Newark, New Jersey and attended West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey before graduating from William Patterson University in 1988. He married his beautiful wife, Erin Ludwig in 2010, and the happy couple welcomed their wonderful baby girl into this world in April of 2011. Continue…

New daddy Alvin S. recently welcomed a beautiful baby into the world! And for the arrival of his child, he proudly wore an I’m the Daddy Tee by DaddyScrubs.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Alvin, and asking with him about being a brand new daddy! Here’s what he had to say:
Q: What was the new daddy’s first thought upon holding his brand new bundle of joy?
A: Besides the huge smile on my face. All I could think of was how long I had been waiting just to hold her. Then I thought, wow I just watched a human come out of a human.
Q: What advice do you have for other new and expectant parents?
A: Get as much rest as possible. You are now your child’s everything so be aware of all your actions so that you can give them the best life possible. Its no longer about you, as the bible its you “grow a child in the way they shall go, and when they are they will not depart from it”.
Q: What has been your favorite Daddy Moment so far?
A: Just holding her and watching her smile without teeth. I think she already knows who will let her get her way, between me and my wife. Continue…

Father’s Day, or as it is known in our house, Daddy’s Day, is rapidly approaching. It is time to start thinking about how to celebrate your Daddy’s Day with these easy tips from Daddy Nickell – a very experienced daddy of seven.
Remember, you don’t have to break the piggy bank to make Daddy feel like the super-dad you know and love. Get back to the basics by being both thoughtful and appreciative while still saving some gas money. For the older college kids, or those apart from their Dad’s, I recommend sending a SKYPE greeting and teaching Daddy how to log-on. Its free, fun, and all about the family.
For the younger children, they can decorate their own master-piece greeting card with whatever they see fit: glitter, macaroni pasta, crayons, leaves, finger prints, and stickers work great. On the inside, they can tape or glue their favorite picture with a message to Daddy saying thanks. If you have more than one child they can each write their own, personal, special note so the card is bursting with love, smiles and happiness when Daddy discovers his special card. I have a few favorite all-time gifts from this age. A rock from my son. A framed picture from one of my daughters, and a ceramic cup for pocket change from another. The memories are still there today.
Everyone talks about “breakfast in bed”, but the place Daddy loves the most is the garage. Sneak out to the garage early, and have mommy help set up the card table and lawn chairs, open the garage door, sweep the floor, and set up the best breakfast ever for daddy including your and his favorites: chocolate chip pancakes, cheerios, oatmeal, and toast. A breakfast over smiles is the greatest way to start the day. This morning will be talked about for years to come. Continue…

Scout Masterson and Bill Horn became stars on the super-popular, Oxygen, reality TV show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. The two men got their name “the Guncles” for being honorary uncles to Tori Spellings’ children. Together, the two decided they wanted a child of their own, and viewers of the television show were able to follow Masterson and Horn through an open adoption process.
After Season 5 commenced, Masterson and Horn made the natural seguay from being Guncles to being Fathers! Daughter, Simone Lynn Masterson-Horn, is one beautiful little girl who sometimes goes by the nickname “Nugget.”
In an interview with People magazine, the happy family said, “From the moment we saw her we instantly fell in love – she has us wrapped around her little fingers.” And they’ve since proven to be amazing daddies to little Simone. Continue…

Anya is a well-known trendsetter and Hollywood stylist to the stars. She’s appeared on Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, KTLA, The Ricki Lake Show, Ok! Bump Club and Beyond Chicago was founded by Lindsay Pinchuk, who “realized that moms and moms-to-be in Chicago needed a place to meet and connect with one another.” Pinchuk developed Bump Club and Beyond as an online community for new and expectant moms.

Q: What was your first thought upon holding your brand new bundle of joy?
A: My wife had a 35-hour labor so let me first say that she’s a champ and inspired me tremendously. As they were cleaning her up post-partum, she couldn’t hold the baby right away so naturally they gave him to me – my first thought was “…but the baby needs to bond with mommy first” – I was afraid he’d feel more attached to me and not mom, that freaked me out a bit. I have to say though, when his warm little body was in my arms all I can think of was how incredibly blessed I was to have him. Continue…

Father’s Day, or Daddy’s Day as I like to call it, isn’t all about presents, it’s about celebrating dad and letting him know you appreciate all of his hard work and dedication. This year, make Dad feel extra special – without wrapping up a present! Some of my very favorite Daddy’s Day memories don’t include traditional presents at all, but simple memories sharing love and gratitude with my family.
So here are my top 5 suggestions that’ll help ensure Dad gets an extra special Daddy-friendly celebration this year:
1. BBQ Time: It’s a known fact that dads love to barbeque – a whole lot of them do, anyways! If the dad in your life loves to grill then I suggest planning an extra special Daddy’s Day barbeque complete with dad’s favorite foods, favorite beer and favorite people. You can leave the grilling to Dad, but make sure you take care of everything else! Family barbeques are great for bonding, laughter and lots of fun. Don’t have a yard or a barbeque? Don’t fret, check out local parks and find a great spot that will work for you. And make sure you pick up something for dessert to end the night “sweetly”!
2. Garage Makeover: Know a dad who loves his garage or “man cave”? This Daddy’s Day give his special hideout a makeover! It’s up to you whether you want to ask for Dad’s help or turn it into a surprise!! Make sure you frame a family photo and place it in just the right spot to show Dad you’re always by his side and you understand he might need a place to escape to from time to time! Kids can help their dads organize tools, get rid of old toys and help clean up a garage or “man cave” space that dad will love. Continue…
