Baby showers are a fun time for friends and family to come together and celebrate the soon-to-follow arrival of a precious baby. Often times, hosts will plan games for guests to join-in at the shower. So, if you are, or know someone who is planning a baby shower, you’ll want to read our series on fun baby shower games that are sure to spice up any party.

The Game: The Name Game

How it Works: The Name Game is a favorite classic baby shower game. It’s a fun game to begin the shower, as it helps the guests warm up to one another. To play this game you’ll need to have your guests form a circle, and choose someone to start. The first person will have to come up with a baby name starting with the letter A in less than three seconds. The next guest would come up with a B name, and so on and so forth as you make your way through the alphabet. If a guest takes longer than 3 seconds to come up with a name for the appropriate letter they’ll be eliminated. The last guest standing wins. Once you go through the alphabet once, the next time around nobody is allowed to say a name that was voiced in any previous round. It will get more and more difficult as the game goes on.

We love this game because it’s quick and energetic. Your guests will enjoy playing the game, even after they are eliminated!
