The Author: The author lives near San Francisco where he not only writes children’s books but also has a Television show, ToddWorld; a show for preschool viewers. The premise is Todd, a little boy, lives in an amazing imaginative land where pretty much anything is possible. The artwork will seem familiar to you after reading Parr’s books; the same bold colors and lines appear within his show. When Parr isn’t working hard writing books and drawing illustrations, he and his dog, Bully, love to explore dog friendly beaches where they can play and watch the fog roll in and out.
Parr’s style is consistently amazing; his books talk about ideas such as love and kindness. His books also discuss family, individuality and enjoying life. Although the subject matter might seem intense, Parr’s humorous, silly style makes his books fully accessible to children.
