The newest addition to our collection of books is What Daddy Duck Loves written by Paige Nickell (me!) and illustrated by talented artist, Curt Walstead.
The Story: This story is all about a daddy and his ducklings. Daddy Duck spends a lot of time with his ducklings playing at the beach, surfing, searching for seashells and more. But more than all other things, Daddy Duck’s favorite activity is hugging his children.
The teaser on the back of the book is as follows: “ Daddy Duck loves to spend time with his ducklings while they surf and play in the sand at the beach. Just like Daddy Duck, you too can enjoy spending time with your children while you read this story, and others in the series, together — sharing in smiles and laughter while discovering what it is Daddy Duck loves most of all!”
The Author: I’m proud to tell the world that I wrote this adorable book for my dad and my little brothers. I know that daddies play a large role in the lives of their children, so I made sure this book highlights them and the love they share with their kids.
The Illustrator: Walstead is a talented illustrator based out of Southern California. He graduated from Art Center College of Design with a BFA in illustration. He’s been working in the children’s market as an illustrator, character designer, product/toy designer and animation storyboard artist for over 20 years. His colorful and bold illustrations are fantastic, and really help in bringing the characters to life.
