The Author: Karen Katz, author of more than 50 storybooks, attended the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. She developed a strong interest in folk art including Indian miniatures, Shaker art and Mexican art. Katz is a true artist, and she often plays with a variety of mediums such as: texture, color, pattern and collage. On her way to becoming an author of children’s books, Katz worked as a costume designer, a quilt maker, a fabric artist and a graphic designer. Katz’ daughter, Lena, has been her true inspiration, and even after many years, the author continues to love what she does. Her love for writing and art is expressed throughout her many beautiful books.
