DaddyScrubs often works to support charities and events across the country by providing donations or special gifts. We’ve recently began working with Celebrate the Military Child, and we wanted to highlight the organization and all the great things they do.
Celebrate the Military Child is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children in need and bringing “parties to children of service members in every branch of the United States Military and local and federal protection agencies to honor the sacrifice that they make,” states their website.
The charity believes that “the gift of a celebration will provide normalcy, happiness, and hope in these military children’s otherwise ever changing lives.” They share and explain there are many children affected by deployment. “Since September 11, 2001, more than two million service members have deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan,” which results in more than 900,000 children who have experienced or been affected by a parent’s deployment. They go on to explain, “Currently, approximately 220,000 military children have at least one parent deployed. It is estimated that 3,051 children lost a parent as a result of September 11, 2001.”Celebrate the Military Child is able to work hard in the community to better the lives of military children with the help of volunteers and community members who donate their time and resources for the cause. Because, the folks behind this organization explain, “If the spirit of these children is lifted for just one day then Celebrate the Military Child’s mission has been accomplished,” states the website.
Currently, DaddyScrubs has teamed up with Celebrate the Military Child to sponsor actress Christie Lynn Smith and actor John Fortson’s baby shower; the event is sure to generate lots of awareness for the nonprofit, and we’re thrilled to be participating.
The couple will have their baby shower on October 21st at The COOP in Studio City, CA. The event will be hosted by FaVe Mom, sponsored by Daddy Scrubs and Packaways.com and decorated by Made by a Princess Parties in Style; the shower will benefit Celebrate the Military Child. Guests at the shower will enjoy food from the Artisan Cheese Gallery and Heavenly Layers, and will leave with gift bags from Beth Brancale, Independent Consultant for NYR Organic.
