Daddy Nickell was recently interviewed on Arizona’s ABC 15 Sonoran Living’s segment where he discussed the 4 C’s of daddyhood that are sure to help your children develop a morning routine that works.
As a daddy to six, with another on the way, Daddy Nickell has a lot of parenting experience. His four C’s are as follows:
- Consistency: No matter what you’re doing, as a parent, it’s important to be consistent. Develop a routine and follow through as an entire family unit – not just as daddy. Daddy Nickell says when you’re consistent, “you’ll actually be a better dad, you’ll feel more a part of the family and everyone will really grow together well.”
- Communication: Keep everyone on the same page with good communication between mom and dad, but also between dad and kids. With open communication and two supportive parents, you’re family will flourish.
- Control: Organizing the household usually falls to the mom, but it’s important, as a daddy, to be involved and helpful in this aspect as well. Daddy Nickell says he always just tries to know what his wife wants, needs and expects; he then does his best to make sure everything goes smoothly and according to plan.
- Creativity: Have fun with your kids and be creative in everything you do. Add random “Daddy’s Day Out” onto the calendar, so the kids see it and look forward to it. Participate in art projects with your children, take them outside, and just have fun.
