A Dad’s Greatest Gift is the Birth of His Child: Meet CJ M.
New daddy CJ M. recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world! And for the arrival of his son, Isaac Samuel, CJ proudly wore a pair of Navy Blue Edgy DaddyScrubs.
I had the pleasure of speaking with CJ, and asking with him about being a brand new daddy! Here’s what he had to say:
Q: What was your first thought upon holding your brand new bundle of joy?
A: It sounds cliché, but I’m not sure I can actually put it into words. My wife and I had tried for 6 years to have a child, going through several failed infertility treatments and procedures. But we remained faithful and after so much heartache we were rewarded with a natural pregnancy. Holding our son (Isaac Samuel) for the first time was amazing! My heart almost exploded with love for him. I never imagined that I could love anything so much in my life. I was literally holding a miracle, an answered prayer. I was so thankful and happy that all I could do was hold him, smile, and cry.
Q: What advice do you have for other new and expectant parents?
A: Enjoy the time. When we first got pregnant we thought, we have 9 months to get everything ready. And then, the week before he was due, we were like, WE ONLY HAVE A WEEK!? You think that those 9 months are going to take a long time to get here, but it’s here before you know it. Take the time to connect with each other and enjoy the pregnancy, because they’re here before you know it.
Q: How did you feel wearing your DaddyScrubs at the hospital?
A: It was like wearing a badge of honor. Everywhere I went, people were congratulating me and asking about the baby. Random people would come up to me in the cafeteria and ask about him. Most people in the hospital are there because they are sick or needing surgery or visiting. But there was no mistaking why I was there with “I’m the Daddy” printed across my back! I was a proud new daddy and I wanted everyone to know it!
Q: What was the reaction you received from people at the hospital when you wore your DaddyScrubs?
A: Everyone LOVED my scrubs! I asked the maternity ward nurses if it was ok that I wear them because several of them have on navy scrubs as well and I didn’t want it to be an issue. They said “those are so awesome, you’d better wear them!” Even the doctors commented on them. From the nurses, to the doctors, to the cafeteria workers, to the other fathers on our floor, everyone loved them. They all wanted to know where I got them and how they were. Several of the new dads said they wished they knew about them before so they could have gotten some.
The entire DaddyScrubs team feels incredibly lucky to have been able to share in such a wonderful moment with CJ and his family. Congratulations, and thanks for allowing DaddyScrubs to be part of your special day!
