New daddy Marty D. recently welcomed a beautiful baby into the world! And for the arrival of his child, Marty proudly wore a pair of Navy Blue Edgy DaddyScrubs.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Marty, and asking with him about being a brand new daddy! Here’s what he had to say:
Q: What was your first thought upon holding your new bundle of joy?
A: My first thought was, “Good golly – we actually did this!” We had a difficult set of circumstances to overcome in achieving this. I was so relieved that our little girl was healthy. I also remember thinking about how proud I was of my wife for getting through everything, the year leading up to the birth and the 24 hours of labor and delivery. Then, I was taken by how absolutely perfect our new little girl felt in my arms.
Q: What advice do you have for other new and expectant parents?
A: Go with the flow. Babies operate on baby time, their own time. Don’t get stressed when things don’t go according to plan. Everyone needs to get used to each other. Also, try to resist the commercialized focus on babies–you don’t need everything under the sun. All that stuff will just make your house feel cluttered. Get to know the baby a bit and make more tactical purchases of the things your baby likes.Q: How did you feel wearing your DaddyScrubs at the hospital?
A: I loved the scrubs. My wife was in labor for more than 24 hours before the c-section. I think I ended up wearing the scrubs for about 36 hours straight. They made for a fun way to get through a tough labor, and they were comfortable as well. I have since pulled them off the shelf a few times just to relax around the house!
Q: What was the reaction you received from people at the hospital when you wore your DaddyScrubs?
A: When I paraded myself past the nurses station they had some great comments and generally loved them. The OB/GYN immediately asked for the web link and was checking your website out on his ipad. Ultimately, when my wife went in for a c-section, the doctor just let me wear my DaddyScrubs into the O.R. for the delivery.
