A Dad’s Greatest Gift Is the Birth of His Child: Meet Nick B.
New daddy Nick B. recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world! And for the arrival of his daughter, Nick proudly wore a pair of Navy Blue Edgy DaddyScrubs.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Nick, and asking with him about being a brand new daddy! Here’s what he had to say:
Q: What was your first thought upon holding your brand new bundle of joy?
A: I first held my daughter “skin-to-skin,” and feeling the warmth of her body against my chest was unbelievable. I fell in love with her instantly.
Q: What advice do you have for other new and expectant parents?
A: Right now, my daughter is two weeks old. I was nervous about becoming a father, so I read several books about being a father beforehand. So far, taking care of her seems to be fairly straightforward. If she cries, she either wants to be fed or needs a diaper change. I think parenthood can be frightening for first-time parents, but I think most of it is simple “common sense.”
Q: How did you feel wearing your DaddyScrubs at the hospital?
A: I absolutely loved it! From the moment I put them on, I felt as if I was transitioning into fatherhood. They were very comfortable, and yet some way empowering. I can’t wait to wear them again.
Q: What was the reaction you received from people at the hospital when you wore your DaddyScrubs?
A: Overall, everyone I came in contact with them liked them. The biggest response I got was from the nurses in the NICU (my daughter was only observed there for an hour). I followed my daughter into the NICU, and as soon as I got there, all of the nurses were commenting on my scrubs. I honestly felt like a model, as they were asking me to turn around so they could see both sides. They were definitely a big hit!
