Daddy Diaper Pack Review
New daddy Chad B. received a Daddy Diaper Pack shortly after the birth of his son, Bodie. I had the pleasure of speaking with Chad and his wife, Jessica, and asking them about their experience using the Daddy Diaper Pack! Here’s what they had to say:
Q: What is your favorite function of the pack?
A: We love the size of the pack – it is big enough for everything a daddy needs, whether it’s on a trip to the beach or park or a long plane ride with baby. The variety of pockets is one of our favorite aspects of the pack as well. There are large pockets inside, and small pockets on the outside that are easily accessible for storing daddy’s keys, wallet, etc. as well as “must have it quickly” items like burp cloths. Also, it’s extremely comfortable to carry! We’ve taken the pack through airports on several occasions and it never hurt daddy’s shoulders.
Q: What items do you keep in your Daddy Diaper Pack?
A: We have at least two sets of everything so that we both have a fully stocked bag at all times. The Daddy Diaper Pack contains a wipe case and extra wipes, burp cloths, diapers, a dirty clothes bag and extra set of clothes for “diaper explosions”, several plastic bags, a Tide stain pen for emergencies, hand sanitizer, a bib, a fold-up changing pad, an extra bottle of ready-feed formula just in case, teethers, a couple of baby’s favorite toys, a board book or two, a lightweight blanket, and any daddy essentials needed for the day (house keys, wallet, etc.)
Q: If you could tell new and expecting parents one unexpected item you’ve learned to keep handy in the Diaper Pack at all times what would that be?
A: Definitely the dirty clothes bag! Always, always keep an extra set of clothes for both baby AND yourself (at least an extra t-shirt, anyway). You can find the dirty clothes bags online or at most baby stores, or make one yourself…they’re just zip-up nylon bags where you can store stained clothes until you can get home and put them in the washer. Throw a couple of plastic grocery bags in the dirty clothes bag for extra-large emergencies, and a Tide or other laundry “stain pen” is a lifesaver as well – it can save baby’s clothes from being permanently stained by treating them immediately.
Q: How does the new daddy feel being in charge of his very own Daddy Diaper Pack?
A: He loves being in charge of the diaper pack. It really made him feel much more confident as a new daddy when he put on his Diaper Pack for the first time, knowing it was fully stocked and he had everything he needed. I was in the hospital briefly when Bodie was 4 1/2 months old, and it gave my husband the confidence he needed when he had to unexpectedly care for baby by himself for a couple of days.
Jessica went on to say even more great things about the Daddy Diaper Pack, including: We just think it’s such a great idea for Daddy to have his own diaper pack, and it makes being a hands-on father that much easier. There aren’t always family bathrooms available when we’re out and about, and men’s rooms very often don’t have changing tables…my husband feels proud when he can whip a fold-up changing pad, wipes, and everything else he needs out of his pack and change our son anywhere. I can tell other daddies are impressed when they see that, and it makes him really happy. I think it has even helped him bond with our son by giving him the confidence to take baby out by himself. We love our Daddy Diaper Pack!
